Target is reporting a potential data breach that may have affected millions of debit and credit cards used in their stores between November 27, 2013 and December 15, 2013.
If you have a debit or credit card and used it at a Target store between these dates, you are strongly advised to monitor the activity in your account closely. If you notice any fraudulent transactions that you did not authorize, you should contact the financial institution that issued your card immediately.
The Bank of Bennington has identified several debit cards that were used at Target during these dates that might be at risk. If your card was one of them, you will receive a letter notifying you that the bank is taking precautionary measures to protect your account. A new card will be issued and that your current card will be closed within 21 days. If you would like your card cancelled soon, please call us to do so ASAP.
