Contact your insurance agency to provide us the information or gather your documents and upload at Validate My Insurance, a highly secure third-party collection portal we use at the bank.

Do I have to notify The Bank of Bennington if I change insurance companies?

Yes, we need to make sure that we have the correct insurance company listed for your property.

Why did I receive an insurance cancellation notice from Lee & Mason?

The Bank of Bennington uses a third party to assist us in tracking the thousands of insurance policies we are required to monitor. The most common reasons for receiving this notice are:

  1. You may have changed insurance carriers and we have not been notified.
  2. The property address on your insurance policy does not match the address we have on record.
  3. You may have forgotten to make the insurance premium payment or you may have sent it in late.

Regardless of the reason please do not hesitate to contact our loan servicing department at (802)442-1640, option 3 or email us at loanservicing@bennbank.com and we will be glad to assist.

Can I make a mortgage payment using online banking?

Yes, you may use online banking to make your mortgage payments.

My mortgage payment appears to have gone up even though I have a fixed rate?

The most common reason for an increase in mortgage payment is a result of an increase in the real estate tax bills. An escrow analysis is mailed every year around the beginning of December to inform you of a potential change in payment. Please keep an eye open for that notice.

I escrow for my real estate tax bill, when I receive the paper copy from the Town do I need to send a copy to the Bank.

No you do not need to send us a copy. We receive electronic copies from the towns. You should keep your copy for tax purposes.

Do you publish a list of foreclosure properties?

We do not publish our list of bank owned properties obtained through foreclosure. However, you may contact our foreclosure specialist, Patti Bass at 802-445-7919 to get a list.
